The odds to win NFC West 2012 have the NFC title appearing San Francisco 49ers pegged as the favorites at -225 moneyline. The Seahawks are listed at a distant second amidst a host of off-season moves at +400 in Vegas. The Cardinals are listed at +65o and the Rams are the longshots at +800 under new sideline boss Jeff Fisher. Most NFC West picks sharps agree that San Francisco possibly has put together something special assuming that QB Alex Smith can become more than a “game manager.” Below is a closer look at the odds to win NFC West 2012 from our NFL picks staff.
Odds to Win AFC South 2012 Order Of Finish and 2013 Super Bowl Odds
1. Seattle +400
This is a shocking NFC West picks play to many but coach Pete Carroll has put together a good ballclub. The 49ers were lucky to win the division with a year that was injury free and rookie QB Russell Wilson is a real player. A defense that ranked 7th in points allowed will be even better in 2012 and a receiving corps led by Terrell Owens, Sidney Rice and Mike Williams creates match-up problems. Marshawn Lynch and Leon Washington also form one of the better 1-2 punches in the league.
NFL Predictions Projected Record: 9-7
2. San Francisco -225
The 49ers were fortunate to get to 13-3 without any real injuries in 2011 and are due for a slide with Alex Smith behind center. Converting on 3rd downs is a glaring flaw that only hints at Smith’s inability to see the field. The running game and front-seven are among the best in the NFL but Smith and suspect pass coverage will lead to a shockingly ordinary season.
NFL Predictions Projected Record: 8-8
3. St. Louis +800
The Rams have enough for head coach Jeff Fisher to compete. The odds to win NFC West 2012 are juicy at +800 with QB Sam Bradford due for a bounce back season under a new regime.
NFL Predictions Projected Record: 7-9
4. Arizona +600
Coach Whisenhunt could be on his way out after signing QB Kevin Kolb to a big contract only to see him flop. Wideout Larry Fitzgerald is a one man wrecking crew but an otherwise average supporting cast will not help Kolb.
NFL Predictions Projected Record: 6-10
